Mexico, the November 2011 Trip

A few pics from the most recent trip aboard "Rot Kat," including one of skipper and crew, sans me. We sailed from Puerto Escondido to La Paz, then on to Mazatlan, San Blas and finally La Cruz. Along the way, Arjan, our skipper, chose to remove the port side transmission to change out a errant screw that was prohibiting reverse. To remove the transmission meant lifting the engine and producing a large hole--where the saildrive sits--that allowed the port engine compartment to fill halfway with water. A little weird when you first see the water coming in.

Also, a few whales graced us with a breach or two, and dolphins raced along Rot Kat's bow.

Spread out on the bed in a motel in La Paz, which was a welcome refuge during a downpour of monsoon dimenions, is Andy after our long road trip, the last few miles on fumes, from Cabo airport to La Paz.

We were also visited by a couple of stowaway birds--it seems to have become a motif with Rot Kat now, the first being the infamous Reggie from the April trip.
