The Christening of Namaste

My boat, "Namaste," was purchased in October of 2010. I loved her name, but wanted to make complete peace with the gods of the sea, so on Friday, September 23rd, 2011, almost a year later, I had a little ceremony with about a hundred of my closest friends.

A very fine bottle of French champagne was dedicated to the four winds and Neptune, and then Namaste's bow was kissed with another. The "Minister" delivered his solemn words, and then the party began!

Chris Moe and "The Minister" assist in the "re-christening"of Namaste,
my ODay 37. The Ile de France--see the round of brie--was the first vessel I
ever sailed on when my family immigrated from England--I was three.
That's real French Champagne, btw.
